‘Your Brain, Your Planet’ is the in-depth course promoted by the Bologna-Ozzano Technopole on the issues of the relationship between the environment and the health of our brain.
While there is indisputable scientific evidence on the close connection between health and the environment, there is still little public awareness, especially with regard to the impact on the Central Nervous System.
Climate change and environmental pollution, together with lifestyles that alter the level of exposure to these potential health risk factors, are the macro-themes that will be investigated.
Fondazione IRET ETS and Tecnopolo di Bologna-Ozzano, drawing on the expertise they have acquired and the activities they have already started up, are promoting a wide-ranging project, focused in the first instance on the regional territory and inspired by models and excellent Italian and foreign experiences, with the aim of making a concrete contribution to the issues outlined above.
The basic characteristic of this initiative will be transversality, i.e. the effort to unite different disciplinary areas and operational contexts, involving all the main stakeholders in the dialogue.
The initiatives will be grouped according to three distinct, strongly interconnected areas of activity
- scientific and research
- social engagement
- informative, educational and cultural.
From October 2024 to March 2025, an initial series of thematic meetings will be organized with the involvement of experts, using a format that focuses on the theme of connections to produce innovative ideas and thus initiate positive change.
